Does anyone out there have any of the new Wasco Stacks? Know anyone who does?
I'm trying to research what my next set of stacks should be. Am interested in performance, how easy they are to keep clean, any oddities, etc.
Would greatly appreciate all pearls of wisdom.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 5 WD530 WascoDry stack machines. They went on line May of 1999. They've been fairly reliable. This is the second or third generation of the stack. It is actually made by American. The only real problems I've had, that I don't think I should have had, are replacing two of the middle idler pullies (one on each of two machines), and replacing several glow bars. Most recently I had to replace two glow bar modules. I guess those should have lasted more than 3 years too. The only other problem I had was in the very early months of use. I had to replace all of the LED displays. American had a bad run of them and replaced all for free. My customers seem to like them a lot. They do use a lot of gas, at 104,000 BTU per pocket. But they do dry fast. Hope this helps.

I think he is talking about the new dryers, the old ones as you stated were ADC and they have been discontinued. From what I heard the new ones are OK, but they have had some problems. I would give them another year or so before taking the plunge.
I have 8 of the new wascomat stacked dryers TD-3030, They are working great so far, the only problems I have had are adjusting the coin mechanism to take both Canadian quarters and my tokens, which are different thicknesses, but this won't be a problem for you Americans. But the machine itself works well, It really does dry more quickly than other dryers. I have only had the machines in for 10 weeks, but people love them, and are using them exclusively, (my american singles seem to be on a well earned vacation after 15 years, seldom used) The one hassle is cleaning the lint filters, one lint filter pulls out to clean easily, but the area behind that lint filter contains another screen/lint filter which must also be cleaned. That is 2 upper, and 2 lower per stack. (not a big deal, but the lower one inside the machine necessitates you kissing the floor as you clean the inside filter.) I suggest you buy a vacuum cleaner to do this, because I suspect it is a job that the attendant will skip if they can.
So far, so good.
It looks good, and feels good, and the money box is large enough to go over a week with full time usage. I have no way to compare gas prices, I just have to trust in their b.t.u. figures.
9.5 on a scale of 10......
my American singles were 8.5,
my heubsch stacks were minus 3

Thanks for all the info. You guys are peachy! I try to start researching about 2 years in advance of any purchaces.... when I narrow the field, then I start listening to the grapevine to see if there are any unusual problems over time. I'll probably be asking this same question in about a year and a half.
Thanks again, fellas!

Hey Bubbles,
You started researching dryers a couple years ago. By the date on your post, you should have bought new ones and had them in use for about a year now. I'm in desperate need of new dryers and need to purchase them within the next 6-8 months. Hoping you can share some pearls of wisdom from what you learned in your search.
I'm a newbie who purchased a run down mat in a prime Main Street location and appreciate any advice I can get!
Thanks
