Stringing problem now in Alabama!!
Quote from TomAla
Sunday AM they got me strung 4 American Changers. All with the Coinco validator. 2 in Clanton, Al and 2 in Montavalo, Al. They got a total of about $500 and left me 3 taped up $20. We are still reviewing tape to try and get ID. The perp. evidently sat on the floor were he could not be seen by camera over changer. I only have tape from 1 store attendant did not hit record on VCR when she change tape. (new girl still training)

Here's a suggestion for Stringing...
We have been testing the Pyramid Technologies APEX-5000 Series Acceptor for about 9-10 months. We have put them in some of our EC changers that were being strung. So far, so good. We have not gotten a report back about further stringing.
It is in the same price range as a Coinco, but it has cross-scanning. These are the sensors on the sides that look for wires or fibers that are attached to the bill. Currently the Coinco doesn't have the cross-scanning (They are working on a new unit that does).
There are a lot of different opinions on Acceptors out there. Pyramid is a new company, and has received mixed reviews in the past. But, our experience is that they are very receptive to feedback and always address any issues/problems promptly. They have made a lot of improvements, and we think they have a good product.
We only deal with MDB acceptors, and that may be an issue in some changers.
Thanks,
Mike C.

My Bc series Rowe kept them out, the anti pullback kicked in and shut the machine down.I am out the $40 ( 2 $20's) and only have pieces so can not take them to the bank. Once Monday, once Tuesday. I wonder it must be seperate crooks or they thought for another try?
The Sales person from American changer told me that it is being done down South because the Laws are very weak and the fines and punishments are almost like a slap on the wrist. Is this true or was this a bunch os bull?

The thing I like about the Pyramid Technologies validator is the fact that you can configure them in several ways, Labtop, palm device or with a program card that is inserted in the validator. Updates for new bills are apparently downloadable to the validator in a similar way making chip changing obsolete. You can even download software that will let you analyze the action of the validator. Sounds like a great product.
