Maytag tops coin mech.

I have Maytag toploaders with the plastic air-pax coin acceptors.

I have a couple of them in need of replacement but a couple of distributors I have checked with said they are no longer available.

Does anyone know where I may find some or am I going to have to go with an aftermarket acceptor like what is available from

I don't know if it is CoinCo or Medico that puts out an all metal coin shut for under $100.00. Look in the Journal or the CoinOp
Magazine they run an ad once in a while. They work great and are easy to install.

Those plastic airpax mechs were/are terrible. Although a little pricey the set-o-matic unit works well.

I took out all twenty air-pax that I had.
I cleaned them, tweaked and modified them a little to make the quarters drop better.
When I put them all back in and tested all twenty, out of 120 quarters I used to test them only 6 failed to drop and came back through the coin return without even pushing the coin return button.
They even still reject canadian money, pennies, dimes and nickels.
I will see how long this lasts till they get all gummed up again but I could still use a couple to replace some that are starting to crack.

Marc is correct, they are a piece of junk. I paid $99.00 for the metal one from set o matic. I think the plastics ones were almost that much to replace.
