I have a GE Topload outside tub rusted through in a couple of places. I was planning to seal them with some type of sealent. JBWeld or silicone.
Has anyone tried a product in particular that is effective?
Most fiber galss should work,I will get a new or used top loader because it won't last and it is mass when it happen again.
If you are in IL,you can get one used SQ from me for $50.

I have patched holes in the GE outer tub with JB weld and it works fine. Did 2 machines 1 hole at top were inner tub hit outer tub and 1 were weld rusted out on lower side. Grind spot to get a mecanical bond first. Both patches were holding when I took units out of service, 1 to 2 years later. Tom
P.S.
I have been junking older GE's do you want some?

I have strong opinions on GE top loads but on the other hand,I sold Clean America toploads that were GE's and they're going strong 6 years later with no problems,go figure...JB weld fixes everything!
