Yesterday, I started cleaning the inside of my dryers. All went well except for one.

The tub will heat, but not turn on the top unit (the bottom unit is fine). I switched the two cables going into the main box and the top unit will work if I add money and press the button for the bottom dryer. The bottom unit will not spin when I pressed the buttons for the top dryer. (ie. I switched the cable and the problem switched units)

I have checked the fuses in the main box (and ruled them out because it works fine if I switch the cable).

Is there anything I can check to get it working?

Thanks

Does it say "door" when you try to start the top dryer, if not what does it say? If it counts down the time as normal you should hear motor contactor pull in. Does the motor led come on the both the front and the rear of the computer board when you start dryer. Check to make sure you have 120 volts between L1 and L2 of the top contactor.

Get back to us with some answers and we'll see what we can do

BTW: You said "fuses", what fuses you talking about? The two fuses on the computer. Those fuses control the top/bottom temp circuit and have nothing to do with the motor. The other fuse in the control box supplies 120 volts to the computer and transformer that then supplies power to the contactors and heat circuits. If you have more fuses than that I suspect you actually have a earlier model dryer, the DGS30PC1 which looks just like the MDG32PC.

I figured out what the problem was. While cleaning out the machine, I did not think to check the relays.

It turns out that there was a piece of lint perventing it from working.

Thank again for the help
