Hi,

I have 6 73's and 1 74 in my mat. One of the 73's has a timer bad (hangs at different places during wash or rinse cycles). I can move it along manually using the contact, but it usually hangs up again a little farther along.

I have another 73 that has a bad tub bearing, that I'm not ready to replace yet. I'd like to just move the good timer from the 2nd 73 to the first and get one usable machine out of it.

I checked, and each of the timers is "different"; the 2nd 73 timer looks newer, and has a different pin configuration than the 1st, which looks to be the original timer.

Is there a wiring diagram or cheat sheet for swapping out the timers? So far, I've gotten quotes of about $155 to buy a new timer, and I'm not certain I'm going to keep these guys much longer (hoping to pick up used 75's and replace these after a while).

Any help is appreciated.

thanks,
frank.

Call Kevin, who posts on this board, at Wascomat and give them the serial numbers for both machines and they should be able to quickly tell you what to do. They are great at helping out, and it does not matter that the machines are over 20 years old or that you are not the original owner.

There were several timers for the gen 3 / 4 . Why don't you just swap the whole console. If you do this you won't have to worry about any wiring changes, although, off the top of my head, I believe that the timers are interchangable wire for wire.
