I had a customer tell my night attendant when she came in that lighting caused a power outage and that the wash she was doing in the Milnor stopped filling. When power came back on in seconds she lost her cycle and had to start the machine over. Of course nobody wittnessed this happening. Now I have many times shut the power off in the middle of a cycle on the Milnor and when i turn it back on the cycle just continues and the Milnor starts to fill back up or continue to spin, where ever it left off. Is it possible for a Milnor to do what the customer said; I don't think so, but I might be wrong.

On my Wasco's they work both ways. If you turn the power off, they start up where they were when the power comes back on. BUT, if you turn the power off, and then wait and open the door and leave it open then when the power comes on the timer advances quickly to the end of the program and is ready for a new load.

Kirby,

I've owned wasco's also and I am familiar with that situation. This is not a computer Milnor. It was built in 1983 and when the power comes back on it has always just continued. I think my customer is not being totally honest with me. It's not just the $3.00, I would like to know for future situations.

Thanks,

BWJR

Once the coin count has been made a latch relay pulls in to start the Milnor, it takes power to unlatch the relay (electrical pulse at the very end of the timer cycle). So the story sounds bogus.

I do not think it can happen, Milnor is mechanical timer.
Chances are the customer "thinks" a cycle was skipped but probably it had just got done with one.

I have seen this happen. The relay tagged "CLS$" is a latching relay. If it unlatched, the cycle will stop. On a different note , pertaining to Milnors.....My customer has 3 Milnors, side by side. When you slam the door on number 1, .....# 2 starts !!!! TRUE STORY....Welcome to the world of Milnor, the only washer with more wiring than a 747 !!!!!
