I realize that patience is needed but this new look makes the newest to oldest even more of a headache.

Loose the scroll bar and the background graphic in a hurry, please.

The additional header takes a great deal of room but it should be scrollable out of quickly.

Looking forward to getting the bugs and some of the glitz out of this release.

Thanks for the effort.

Sorry I can’t please everyone. Things will change; I just can’t do some of the things you want all the time.
These thing cost money PLEASE feel free to send in donations.
Or become a sponsor.
I do listen to all your opinions and if it is a quick fix and I do agree I well make it so. But to make the script for a button to change old to new sound easy but it take a script to hack in.

If you can write this script go for it.

We will do it sooner or later and I want it too.

What more can I say. But let’s talk Laundry.

Thanks

Okay a little clarification.

I have now tried the new look in three configurations.

PC - Explorer (6.0) Windows 98
Mac - Explorer (5.5) OS 9.2
Mac - Netscape (7.x) OS 9.2

My vehicle of choice is Mac/Netscape. The new look functions very, very poorly on that configuration. It refreshes in a strange way causing it to be very difficult to scroll down to the bottom of the page. Therefore my mention that the newest to oldest would be an even bigger problem than before, if you needed to scroll to the bottom to find out what the thread was all about in the first place.

Since I have tried it with Mac/explorer. Not as bad as with Netscape but background doesn't conform to the window size well and generates a second scroll bar.

Last the PC and Explorer. It is obvious this is what it was tested on. Functions smoother than the other two configurations.

Suggest you check out the product on Macs too. I don't have Netscape loaded on the PC so I don't know how it functions. Therefore I can't say if it is a Mac problem (doubt it) or a Netscape interface problem (my bet!). Microsoft likes to add things to their software to make other product function stranglely. Welcome to the world of open platforms.

If I only had a Mac I would not visit the site regularly anymore. The product functions that poorly. Perhaps that applies to me and two others that use Macs maybe not.

I do like the fact that with the "links", "editorial", "classifieds" that the BB is endeavouring to offer more of a portal approach to laundromat problems.

I'm viewing on a mac G4 with IE 5.0 The only problem I see is that when I try to navigate the site, go to different pages, I constantly get an error message that says something like " a script error occurred, some scripts on the affected page may not run correctly do you wish to continue running scripts" and below that it says "Microsoft jscript runtime error" "error=object expected" if I click yes it loops back to the error mesaage if I click no it let's me proceed.

Hope this helps

I don't want to say my browser is outdated,

but everytime I load this site, a guy comes on the screen and spells everything out in semaphore :-)

PLEASE! Fix it back the way it was. With Win 95 / Explorer the text is too wide to fit on the screen. To see the date of a post and who last posted, I have to move the text side to side. I know new methods take time, but evidently this was not tested on enough systems for compatibility. Suggest the old system until the new one has the "bugs" worked out. Thank you.

The look is nice, but it does not make good usage of the screen. There is too much wasted space which makes the user constantly scroll. The old initial page was better as you saw if you had any private messages when you brought the page up, now you have to remember to scroll to the bottom of the page. My wrist is getting a workout on this new format.

On WinXP Pro with IE6 it works fine, but on my notebook that has Win98S and whatever version of IE that is that vintage I am getting popups that constantly tell me I need to load flash to view the page and other error messages.

Another annoying feature is that with the smaller footprint you have to scroll to click send after you type a message. While there may be some future reason for this format as we see it now it is just making it hard to use the page.

Winston, what is your screen resolution set to? if it is less than 1024X768 then you will have this problem. Also Font Size settings is set to large fonts, you will have problem.

Kirby, I can see the Private Message Status without scrolling down. However, I agree that this new design does not use space very efficiently.

That is strange that you can see it and I cannot. I have a 19" monitor set at 1024 x 768. I think the majority of people have their video set to 800 X 600 and that is the resolution most web pages are optimized for.

Kirby, the main BBS Site hasn't changed. It does not have this new look & feel so I can still see PM box without scrolling down.

It is only when you go to individual forums, you see the new look & feel.
