Rusted out topload hinge point

I have rusted out topload hinge point on a couple of washers.

I was thing of treating the area with rust inhibitor, and then use a silicone adhesive with a fender washer and a smaller washer the size of the hole. (To use as a filler)

Any good ideas on fixing this? (Other than replacing the top of the washer.)

David,what brand and model are these?

This model is a GE WWC8000SALxx.

It has about a 1.5 rectangular black hard rubber hinge. The screw comes up from the bottom of the washer top.

JB Weld epoxy sets like a rock,maybe this in conjunction with a washer then drill thru the epoxy for your pivot pin.
