I have an Wasco 183, that is giving me some drain problems. I can put the old style back in, but am wondering if there is some kind of conversion to a newer style drain, accessable from the front.

I unfortunately don't know of a front mount kit.If you have the old old style with the cast housing, this can be converted to a plastic Dependo style part #006012.This the complete kit.You may want to double check that # with Wasco.

We have a kit for it.......BUT......it's a rear mount. I know of no conversion for a front mount newer style drain valve on a W183.

Sorry, but I don't remember the part number or the current price. Call me at the office and I'll get it for you.

My friend bought some W183s a few years ago to replace toploaders,
all of them have the yellow Dependo drain valve in the front.I think he bought those W183 from Washtown in Chicago. If Wasco don't have kit,you should able to find something to fit.I had some W73 all had drain valve in the front.

If you can make the switch to dependo valves its a great switch. This valve will cut down tremendously the clogs of underwire bras in the wasco valve, that have to be cleared numerous times a week.

I still have 2 w183 with stainless front, they look ok and run well,
they were made in 1972 but customers still love them.I will not buy any more Gen3 Wasco as long as people like them,I will keep them.
