Hello everyone,
My dryer lint screens are torn and hanging out of the frames. I assume the screening is a special material. I bought aluminum insect screening at Lowes, compared the materials, and it seemed to lightweight....not lookin' to burn my mat down in 2nd week of operation. They are Con't 30 lbs., approx 3 yoa.
Thanks!

I'd be afraid to use alum screen.
Call Summit parts. Have model number ready.
1(800) 367-6869
or www.summitparts.com (but I didn't see any specific to your dryers.)
Tell them you saw their link on Coinwash.com

Be very careful when replacing lint screens. The holes in the screen need to be the correct size or the lint may pass through or worse may restrict airflow. Only use it if your confident that the material you have chosen from Lowe's is close enough. Then just check it frequently especially the Continental (Dexter) units as lint Builds up fast on those dryers.
It's worth the extra money to buy the best lint screens. About 2 years ago i bought some 99c ones from a mail parts place. i'am sure most of you know who i'am talking about. They only lasted a short while, but worst of all they tare easy and get totally clogged. Not only is this a fire hazard, but you will get more customer complaints and much less efficiency. Go with the best, directly from the manf. of the machine.

I bought lint screen with frame from Summit PartsTell them you saw their name on Coinwash.com for about $2.99 a piece for my Huebsch Twinstars.
Were they original factory parts?

Dryers are a little over 2 years....I assume the screening was original? I did call Cont. and engineer said what I bought would work. I rescreened one just for the fun of it. I agree with you guys..screen is flimsy I can tell it won't last. If I buy from Summit, and clean daily or at least every other day, how long do they usally last? Also, several locks on the screen doors are stripped out. I assume I can replace with little locks that use a flat key.
Thanks everyone, I'm having fun, getting dirty and countin' quarters :)

I try to clean mine once a week. If you clean yours 2 - 3 times a week your lint screens will last a lot longer. A company called Atlantic Laundry Parts Tell them you saw their name on Coinwash.com has all the little things you will need as far as locks, keys and little things that most other Parts Distributors don,t carry.
Good Luck

We've found it well worth the time to clean all of our lint screens daily. I haven't done a scientific measurement, but I swear I can see a big difference in drying when screens are cleaned daily or everyother day. Customers notice too.

You can price these parts from a Dexter parts house also, becuase Conti and Dexter are the same dryer. The stacked ones are anyway. The newer models alow to buy just the screen, the older ones you had to buy the whole tray.

Thanks to everyone! In a year (could be 6 mo) from now this will be old hat. But for now I'm having a blast cleaning screens hahah..hubby found a $5 bill in one screen. I haven't been that lucky yet. For now, cleaning the screens is the most humorous of all the work we're doing. I figure by the end of the 1st year we will be able to afford a nite at the Hilton on lint change! hahah (already looking for my 1st vacation! )
