I have eight of these 3 phase machines that intermittently will complete a normal cycle and restart for a second or third (usually we hear about it by then and cut the power) wash. Tech support has suggested a new door mech. board and a rearrangement of coin mech. wires to prevent an errant induced voltage.

I think that it has something to do with the door lock hanging up.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

Any solutions?

If this is a Unimac, read all the replies under "Lesson Learned", just a few below this thread.

Tech support will say change this and change that but at whose expense?

Are you saying that all 8 washers are doing the same thing?

If the machine keeps starting over and over again you may have a sticking relay on the coin drop computer board.

When it does start over and over again do you hear the door unlock and then lock again?

If the "door mech was hanging up" or not unlocking then the washer would run forever just tumbling, and not start a new cycle. So something is making the timer motor advance to a new cycle.

The next time a washer does it and you are made aware of it, open the top panel and disconnect the 5 pin connector going to the coin drop, if at the end of that cycle it stops then you have most likely have some problem with the coin drop or drop start relay.

We have had six of the eight experience this problem, two machines are single phase and don't have this problem. The door does not unlock before restarting. In fact, there is very little time between finishing one cycle and starting the new one, it is immediate.

Tech support has sent me some parts (no charge) for one machine to test, however the problem is intermittant and we have seen several months between episodes. Unless I stand in front of the machine 24/7 I might only hear about a reoccurance 20% of the time.

I'll try your suggestion, thanks.

I had a similar intermittent problem with some of my (Primus) Supermate machines. After awhile it became apparant that the problem occurred after an overflow. The moisture (high humidity) evidently caused the coin counting board to send a restart signal.
