How could I get the dried soap scum off of of my stainless steel washer tops.
I have tried all sorts of things and nothing works. All I know is that the whit residue keeps on building up & spreading. The machines are starting to look terrible.

I have heard Limeout sold in HomeDepot works. Never tried it though.

The only thing that works for me is a C/L/R cleaner. (Calcium/lime/rust) It's some type of acid. I usually apply it and let it sit for 30 minutes. (Don't let it dry out.) It is working, but it will take multiple appications in my case.
Try to keep it off of clean stainless as it will tend to stain it. (But my stain I was able to buff out with a ScotBrite pad.)
I just had someone tell me about a product called Mother's metal polish. Appartently it's for the automotive industry as he told me he bought it at Auto Zone. He says it takes a little elbow grease, but that it gives a mirror finish. (I've heard that before)

Does it remove the stain completely or just fade it?

The soap stain is disappearing.
The blue stain from the cleaner on clean stainless will buff out.
